My 2010 LT cobalt with 148k miles has given me the "engine power reduced" message twice in the past couple weeks. The car shakes a lot and won't accelerate easily at all. My husband cleaned the throttle body and checked the wires. It was good for a week and today it happened again.
Autozone pulled code P2176 for me. If I turn the key real quick on starting and let go, the "engine power reduced" scenario doesn't happen.
Is it worth it for my husband to replace a sensor or two or even the throttle body before taking to a mechanic?
