I fully realize that this was posted 8 months ago but hey I just got here and havent had any luck sleeping so far tonight...
a lot of auto-x guys that run cobalts have a "stiffy" it's an engine mount built like a small adjustable shock that helps eliminate wheel hop or breaking the tires loose in the corners. I've seen it work on their cars but haven't purchased one for mine yet. Also upgrading the motor and transaxle mounts makes a huge difference esp on front wheel drive cars keeping the wheels stiff and on the track when pulling through corners is a must. Once you've done that you'll want a limited slip differential. creteenginedepot.com has a part that is supposed to be better than limited slip but I don't know much about it.
