Default suspension ?'s

Ok, I have a 08 G5 2LT sedan and I have a few questions.

I bought a set of eibach pro kit springs, not because I wanted to lower the car, but because I couldn't pass up brand new never installed springs for $100. So, even thou I never planned it, I always like the look lowered, now the car is getting lowered.

Now if I install them on my stock suspension they will give me, well it says it will give me (I assume its an average), 1.4"f and 1.6"r. But, I'm thinking of switching to Fe5 shocks and struts while I'm at it. Will it give me the same drop, less drop or more drop with this setup.
I've been around trucks my whole life and lifting them or lowering them is pretty straight forward. Now, it maybe the explanation I've got from different people but I'm confused. One person said I will only get .5" drop on the back with Fe5`s and the springs, and another said you will get 1.5"f and almost 2"r.

I guess whats confusing me is, if I install the Fe5`s on my car will they drop it themselves, with out the lowering kit? And then with the lowering kit I will only get an extra .5"?

Is this right? if not explain away.

switching to FE5s shouldnt change the drop. it will give you a much better drive (feeling) and have much better handling. when i put fe5s on i didnt notice any difference in drop. plus eventually the FE1s will give out from the extra stress of being lower...in other words youll eventually have to replace the shocks and struts anyways...

drop will be the same. the springs support the weight shocks just absorb shock.

What they said. the shocks you get will not affect your drop. The stock FE1 shocks will blow out after not too long tho. Upgrade to FE5 or Konis

Here is some info on the Eibach pro kit

Chevy Cobalt Eibach ProKit Springs

Also changing the struts to FE5 struts will not affect the drop, but will help in the handling department. Also the stock struts in the 2.2 will work, but its different for everyone, some people can drop thier cars and the struts will last forever, others have had struts blow in less then a week.
