Default pioneer head unit lost power

i have a 2005 chevy cobalt, we took the stock head unit out and hooked up a pioneer one, as we were working on gettin the amp wires hooked up to it, it lost power, we used a tester to test the power wire and there was nothin, we are thinkin we blew a fuse, but we could not find one that was blown. we hooked up the unit to a battery and it powered up fine. we are stuck.. any help is greatly apprecaited. thanks, connor.
