Gear shift indicator bulb replacement

I cant seem to get the bulb out of its socket for the gear position indicator on my 07 LS, any Ideas?

just buy some leds what ever color you like and put in it thats what i did

I did this u may have to use needle nose and grab bade of light n pull as u hold the socket. That what I did then I replaced w led

I was worked about breaking the bulb with the needle nose but I think that is what it has come to. I need the whole darn shift assembly replaced anyways (won't release the key). Thanks guys
