Default lost ring in vent on dash

I lost my ring in the defrost vent. Have taken apart most of dash. How do I remove or open heater box. Any diagrams of this system?

SERVICE manuals, the things that tell you every TQ spec and diagnostic procedure for your entire car. Worth every penny my friend.

Cobalt / Pursuit Service Manual GMPANS - Crate Engine Depot

And my mistake $130 +shipping.

Or you could do what I do and just start taking things apart till you find it. Just dont open anything that you think might have water in it inside the car.
