Question 09 Cobalt steering feels loose.

I am new to the board and have a question that maybe someone can help me with. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2009 Black Chevy Cobalt 4dr. Car has around 32,000 miles and the steering wheel feels very loose to me. When the car is off it feels that I can still turn the wheels a little bit. Don't know if this like this or not. And I think ithe front end may need and enlinement. I have not owned a chevy for yrs. so any info would be great.

What size tires? its probably the sidewall flex you're feeling. I had some 45 profile tires on my old car for a while, spongy as hell.

Also check the tire pressure's If they are low that will cause it also.
Inflate them to whats on the door jamb.

It sounds like excessive play in the intermediate steering shaft. You should have it looked at by the dealer asap.
