i do my oil change about every 4,000 to 5,000 miles, by then the oil percent is usualy at about 50, even if you take it somewhere and they dont reset the meter you can reset it yourself.

I started doing it by the computer and didn't like what I saw. Oil was breaking down after so many miles. I went back to doing it every 3000 miles or every 4 months. This is good anyway, because it kind of gives you an excuse to look at other things as well, like tire pressure, your fluid levels.
A BIG thing you should keep an eye on. The neg battery cable in the truck corrodes because it is copper. I recommend you clean it when you change the oil, or have your mechanic do it. The battery is back there next to the spare tire if you have a 2009. Preventative maintenance.

What oil filter do you guys recommend? I use FRAM right now, but I've had a lot of people tell me they don't like FRAM.

to let you know they tell you that you can go 7500 miles but at my dealer i work at and do the oil changes we recomend 5000 miles. ive seen cars with that mileage come in and the oil looks almost like new just a darker color.

i do my cars full syn. every 7000 miles.
