Default intake suggestions/help

i was wondering if anyone has gone about making their own cold air/short ram intake. and maybe know where i can get some directions or at least the size of the piping I'm going to need. or maybe even some pictures would help. any help at all would be appreciated.

It works, but it has resistance in the curves.

Ebay has good cheap ones.

I just don't know why you want to "cheap" out on something that is going to be in your car.

i'm not looking to necessarily "cheap out" i just want to build my own.

and on top of that i'm a poor college student, so there is little income.
