Default LS / LT smoked tail lights

Has anyone with a ls or lt smoked the tail lights but put something like a can over the reverse and brake light so it stays clear while the rest is smoked or blacked out? If so pics please?

just take masking take and pt it over it and then cut the edges to fit in the circle. That's what I did.

I had mine done at a body shop, but he said thats exactly how he did them. He did 7 layers of paint over the entire light, except the reverse, and then just one layer over the revers. Turned out pretty well I think.

Yeah paint is usually the way they do it. Then if you want to get rid of it they use a sander or something. It's easier

I read that if you leave the reverse light and a blank spot on the actual brake light that it is not illegal anyone else here this? I just wonder if it would look funny with the reverse and maybe the same size circle over the brake lights

It would look dumb with a circle over the brake light itself. Just either do the whole thing or leave the reverse light untinted. I just re did mine yesterday and made them darker and tinted over the reverse lights.

I did what the other guys said. I put painters tape over the reverse, and cut it off. There is a small indention that separates the revers from the red part. Or at least on mine it did. Just take your time. Took me about 10 minutes to do this.
