Default New Owner, Couple Questions

Hey! I am a new member but not new to auto forums. I just purchased a 07 LS as a commuter and have a few questions.

Stereo is shot. Popping fuses when I plug the harness in. I removed a aftermarket (hackjob) of a stereo to ensure all was good with the wiring and isolating it from the head end unit. Has anyone had this issue? Bad head unit popping fuses? I already bought a new head unit and its on its way but was curious on the history of anyone else. Didn't see anything with a search.

Also the "Service Airbag" light is on. Fuses are ok and the car has never been in a accident. I have searched and it seems that the only way to get this reset it by a service person but it should clear on its own when the circuit effected is seeing the proper resistance. Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks for your help and its good to be here

Trey

I meant that there were many fuses blown. I don't know yet if its going to be multiple at different times... shit I hope not. I have a Tahoe and its been a great vehicle... hence why I got another Chevy. Shes only 4 years old so I would hope its still a sound car.......
