Default Oil Change

so I changed my oil for the first time on this car. The filter is weird; it's a cartridge filter rather than a regular "can" filter. Getting the cap off was easily the hardest part of the job. I'll put up a post tomorrow or Sunday with everything explained for those who haven't done it yet.

If you ever think your car is fast, just remember there's a Dodge Caravan putting out 15,000lbs of thrust!

Our cars are one of the easiest to change the oil in.

Changing the oil is the same on every car but I've never encountered a cartridge filter before. I needed a pair of vice grips because the exhaust manifold was over the plastic cap and prevented me from getting a socket around it. Putting everything back together was easy, it was just getting the thing opened.

Advance Auto sells a socket for our filters.
Mazda uses a cartridge filter also on the 2.3 motors.

Yeah get the socket, its something like a 23mm shallow one, they sell it at O'riliey's. Easiest and cleanest oil change I've ever done was on my LT.
