The mechanic told me today that i had an alarm system/key issue as well. Said that my car stays on when it's turned off. He also mentioned something about the ECM. He also said the install might not of effective the speedometer issue. I should of taken it to the dealership. The mechanic wants to charge me an additional $240 just to to "investigate" and find out if it's a bad wiring or if what. Didn't mention the TCM.

I've installed a complete system in my 06 ls & I've started havin car problems. Not sure if their related but I'll describe my problems & see what you all think.
Since I've installed a 7" touchscreen head unit, vibe amp & vibe 12" sub, I've had to replace an alternator because that's what the installers recommended because my amp would randomly cut off & on, they said that was the cause of a bad alt putting out too much voltage. Now a new alt for $371, problem still existed. Finally got a planet audio amp, fixed it for maybe a month now this ones having same problem. I installed a 360 to the head unit, car wouldn't start after that, since then I'm constantly having to be jumped off. I leave car on at alk times unless I'm home for the day & done in town, even while pumping gas. Car never dies after it's started but now everytime I get gas, the cars died by time I get back in & takes 2-3 tries before it cranks again. Check engine light comes on but goes off after a few hours. Idk if these are related or caused because of the system or not so I'm just looking for opinions or experiences with similar events.

What code is it throwing? What is the voltage when the car is running? and when it's off? Is your amplifier on when the vehicle is shut off? what about your other newly installed electronics?

you have a major parasitic loss. something is on when it shouldn't be. wiring needs the be checked on everything that was installed right before symptoms started. I guarantee something is incorrectly wired or is shorting.
