Springs? Coils?

I was curious about whether or not to get springs or coils for my car. It is in desperate need of a drop but I get mixed messages from friends saying you have to replace springs every year (? I do not believe that). Coils are obviously better but cost words not really an option right now.

Any advice?

If you're just looking to get low springs are your cheapest option. Your friends forgot the pass part of "puff puff pass" if they said you need new springs every year.
