Exclamation Transmission problems

Hey all I've got a 2008 g5 2.2l automatic with 62000 miles. I had a problem start on friday where the trans ould not go out of first gear until I left off the gas at normal acceleration, then it seems to go directly into third gear. No problems occur in 3-4 gear and the trans does not slip. I assume this is a problem with the 1-2 shift solenoid but would like your input. No check engine light is on either. I have to fix the problem myself as a dealer will cost way to much and unfortunetly I have a 200 mile commute to work so I need the car working.

If it is a shift solenoid does a repair manual go into the replacement procedure?

Solenoid sounds bad like you suspect could be a gear

Before I go digging into it, is there any electrical fuses/wiring that I can pin out to make sure that is the problem?

I would also recommend contacting your local dealership. There are many benefits to taking a vehicle to your local dealership. You can guarantee that technicians are certified and that the parts come with a GM parts warranty. They should be able to assist you further and have a plan for addressing the issue. *REMOVED* . Thank you.

Tricia, GM Customer Service.
