Question about when to get oil changed

i chance my oil every 4000-5000Kms keeping in mind my car also sits from oct31st to April 1 each year as i put it away for the winter. i don't go by the oil life cause my battery is often disconnected many times a month. this leaves for bad readings on the monitor .

i also change my oil befor the car goes away and soon as it comes out.
changing it more is better then less. but at the same time iv bought 10 year old cars that never had the oil changed and they still worked. only thing is some dealers will void warranty if oil is not changed as per the agreement

Yeah it was the dealer that charged me $100...even the cashier was dumbfounded at the price. Another place said it would be around $60 for Mobile 1. Of well you live, you learn!

yeah i would not go back there......if the cashier is like wtf then obviously they are not all on the same page
