| Sooo.... lol
soo the other day i was driving, valve cover gasket took a shit on me and a whole bunch of smoke was coming out of my exhaust and engine bay.... change the gasket, clean all the oil go for a ride, a shit load of smoke still. i figured it was the oil inside the cylinder burning off from the gasket fucking up. and my dip stick pops out and oil everywhere... get the car back home do a compression test and is #4 there is nothing, #1 has 60....
im thinking about putting the m62 back on, taking off the meth and all that and try to get it done under warranty
and if not... i shall start building i guess

ahhhh...shitty!!!! i was about to say...the valve cover gasket wouldnt let ANYTHING into the cyl, would have let it out onto the outside of the exhaust and such...
check your HEAD gasket..that is a good possiblity for what your seeing...other then that..#4 ringland...goodbye!

well the spark plug gasket thing that comes with the valve cover gasket was fucked up to. And wouldnt it be obvious if the head gasket was messed up? lol like i would be able to see without taking it off

and head gasket...not nec...if it blew out to the atmosphere yes, you would notice cause oil or coolant or both would would be coming out the engine between the head and block, if it blew inside then not necc, you could be loosing coolant into the cyl, you could also blow it in between which can cause loss of pressure into a byl with open valves and therefore low compression, have you checked all cyl???

It sounds more like the ringlands in 4 are gone.If the gasket was blown in between 2 cylinders it would read low not 0

first pull the head and see if theres any major scarring on the cylinder wall.If so then drop the oil pan and get your self some rods and pistons since your in there. If the scratches on the cylinder wall arent too deep you can get a cylinder hone and make it look brand new
