Default Clutch position sensor

I recently had the check engine light come on and the code was P0833.

Clutch pedal switch 2 circuit.

Possible cause is open or short cicuit
Poor electric connection
Faulty clutch pedal switch

I checked to make sure the connection was OK.
I can depress the switch by hand and it starts fine.
The pedal contacts the switch fine and starts OK.

If I can do all of this one would think the light would go off. If the switch was bad would that keep it from starting??

Default Update to my earlier post

I unplugged and plugged the wiring harness back in and disconnected the batery to clear the code.

Is the code still stored in memory? The check engine light never came back on

the code should still be on in the pcm if you didn't delete the code with a scan tool.
