u have to use an ECU programmed with your VIN, easy way is with a Tech 2, usually only available at the dealership, not sure about other options.....If your shit is locked it means the ECU is not registering as your VIN.

I went through this with a member I sold a spare ECU to even though I changed the VIN in the ECU with HP Tuners. There is a 30 minute VATS relearn he had to do to it.

Here's the details from the email he sent me after he got it going...

its a pretty simple procedure..

You disconnect the battery
Change the PCM
Reconnect the battery
get in the car turn the key on
let it sit for 10 minutes or until the security light on your dash goes off
then turn the car off
and turn it back on sit for another 10 minutes or until the light goes off
then turn it off again
and turn back on and sit for 10 more minutes or until the light goes off
and it should start right up after shutting it off one more time
but you have to make sure you DO NOT touch or use anything electrical in the car like the radio and stuff because its learning the PCM. you also cannot open any doors or anything
you must do this even to switch back to your stocker

---End Quote---

Hope this helps you out! Sounds like you better roll the window down unless you want to sit in the car for 30 minutes.
