2002 chevy tahoe, driver window wont go up or down

Hello,

A guy at work is having trouble with his 2002 chevy tahoe. The driver window will not go up or down but you can hear the motor running. So i am going to help him remove the door panel to see if we can fix the problem. Is it possible the motor could still be good and regulator be bad. Or maybe it came off its track? Do you need to replace both the motor and regulator if one goes bad.
