LT and SS shifter's compatible?

This is going to be a weird question, so here goes.

I'm putting an Ecotec motor and F23 trans into a non-standard application. I have the motor, just bought a tranny, and am now looking for a shifter. What I need to know is, will a shifter from a Cobalt SS (with F35 trans) work with an F23 trans. From my research, the actual shift handle is different (due to the SS reverse lockout feature) but will the whole shifter assembly from an SS work with an F23 transmission?

I guess my question could be asked a way which you guys may have more experience with. If you swap an SS motor and tranny into a Cobalt LT, do you need to swap the SS shift assembly too, or does the stock one work?

yes you will need to transfer the shift assembly as well.

i actually tried putting an f23 linkage on my f35. dealer gave me the wrong part. didn't work.
