|  troubleshooting code P0420 on my 2006 cobalt
my check engine light came on a few days ago we went to autozone to get a free check engine light scan and the troubleshooting code P0420 came out.it said something about the catalyt convertor.it said catalyt convertor defective (failure possibly due to #2,3, or 4) also said it could be engine misfire or running condtion,large vacuum leak,engine oil leakage into exhaust valve guide seals,piston rings..i also took it to a shop they said by looking at it it is catalyt convertor related(whateverthat means) and its running rough..how do i know for sure if it is the catalyt convertor is ther something i an do to check..a trick??something cause the part is expensive..dont wanna pay for repairs that are not needed also want the check engine light to go away..help!! |
