Default weird sounds while on throttle

Ok my buddy Andrew has an '08 ss/tc. same mods as me including tune. so while WOT in 2nd gear only there is a weird tone. it doesn't sound like a whistle and stays at a constant volume and pitch through out 0-22psi. at first I thought it was a boost leak.. but i did full boost in 3rd and 4th no tone. any ideas?

That's what confused me. Anyways, is it more of a hum?

I was doing the diagnostic test drive... not a hum as in bad wheel bearing or other metallic grinding. it's med to high pitched tone reminds me of a tuning fork..

Tuning fork....Sound changes with speed at all? Thats odd that it only does it in 2nd. Any specific RPM range it gets louder at?

could it be that it IS happening in 3rd and higher but road and wind noise are drowning it out?

I shredded my 2nd gear synchro, or maybe it was just the gear....either way they never made a sound other than the thunk throwing the car outta gear lol

From his sig I am only seeing a CAI and STS as anything that would change sound, STS shouldnt for any reason. Although he mentions having a tune and thats not in his sig.

OP, is your sig updated with all your performance mods?

Also, my CAI whistles, might possibly be the sound you are hearing. I mean I know you said it doesnt sound like a whistle but being that you guys have a diff engine and intake routing not to mention turbo it could be the sound. Though I can get it to whistle in all gears.

OFFTOPIC: had some older guy ask me if I was turboed because of the intake almost sounds like a huge wastegate or BOV depending on how I play with the throttle
