Keyless/Remote Entry

I've just bought an 06 Cbalt SS/SC G85. The car has power door locks, but the dealer only provided me with a single key and the absence of a remote Key Fob.
1. How do I find out if the car originally came equipt with a Key Fob to remotely lock/unlock the doors?
2. Will the vehicle have the necessary internals to adapt a Remote Entry to it?
3. I have a left over Key Fob from an 06 Chevy Equinox. Can this be reprogrammed to operate the locks on my Cobalt?

buy a remote and see if it works... go to the dealer and ask them to check and see if your car is capable of one...

if you get a key fob you have to take it to a dealer to have it programed

Hey Cobaltime I just had the same issue with my 08 Cobalt..Just call your local dealer with the last 8 numbers of your vin. They can tell you if your car has remote locks and/or remote start. If it has you can buy remote at dealer but it must be programed at dealer.

not sure what the procedure is for programming a key fob but if its anything like Fords u dont even need to go to the dealership do some research but then again im not sure i havent done a cobalt factory key fob yet only aftermarket............yes im back lol
