2006 Cobalt ls 2dr coupe has freshly balanced brand new tires and rims up front from a horrible pothole (more like a crater) incident well long story short something is jacked on my passenger side car clunks over bumps and wobble and clunks at speeds between 50-60 I can feel play in the CV axel as I can move it back and forth up and down and the sway bar end link has play in the lower part kind of the the ball and cup of the end link tight on money at the moment from the new tires so can't afford to start just replacing anything. My question is should I be concerned with the amount of play in my CV joint as the issue doesn't seem to happen more during turning or can I probably relate most of these issues to the sway bar end link

Lumberjackbrandon,I feel your pain, I have 2 Cobalts , one 2 dr and one four door. I think any of the conditions you discribe can be making noise and should be evaluated by someone knowligable in the tolerances of those items. Having said that I also know my Cobalts both have noises in the front end that I never have been able to pinpiont, and I have changed stabilizer bar links, hubs, struts, tie rod ends and the niose is still there. The cars have run many thousands of miles and problem never revealed itself but the noise continues,so if you find something I would be very interested to know.

Had the car diagnosed needed wheel bearings and both end links as I somewhat suspected also the sway bar bushings were junk and needed replaced as well. I was fortunate enough to have a car lift for this job so all in all it took around 40 minutes or so with not power tools had to warm the rsuted nastey end links nuts even after a hefty dose of pb blaster. Good luck in figuring out what issues your having. I just couldn't handle the rattling anymore
