Key Fob stopped working

hello i have a 2006 Cobalt LT 2.2L. My key fob stopped working so i changed the battery and it still does not work. The metal piece that holds the battery is no falling off so that is one problem i can rule out . The other remote i have is broken the metal piece fell off so i have no way of checking if its my fobs or something else ? Any ideas on what to do ?

You can go to Autozone or O'Reilly's and use their RF tester at the checkout counter to see if it's transmitting.

Did you try taking the buttons off your first remote and using a paperclip to make the connection on the buttons? The pads to wear out, Ebay has them for dirt cheap.

i had the same issue one day where it just suddenly stopped working, almost got locked out of my car because all the key holed are seized.. anways, i had to pull the radio fuse to reset the security system then it started working again
