I just purchased a 2005 Cobalt autimatic not sure if it's Lt or ls. It won't turn over. Everything seems to be powering up even the run/crank relay is powering up. The crank relay don't seem to be powering up though. There is no security light on. I know they had issues with the ignition, but is there something else I should check before diving into that. I also have a running 07 cobalt I can parts swap with if the parts are the same.

Yeah I checked all of them they all are good and I've tried to swap relays around too. I don't see any changes when swapping relays.

This is how mine was when I bought it. The last guy ran a wire underneath the starter relay and grounded it to the engine. Without it it would not starttapatalk_1472411523708.jpeg

I checked with the multimeter and I'm getting a ground signal to my relays. It's almost like a safety switch or something ain't letting the signal to start to go through. I found out a little bit more on the car. The previous owner had the motor replaced and they drove it just a little bit. Then it got where it wouldn't start. I'm wondering if they may have left something a little loose after the motor swap. Does anyone know where the main grounds to the motor is?

It should be on one of the tranny to engine bolts near the front of the car drivers side. That's where it is on my 2.0 ss
