The cobalt we just bought has a chain clatter at start up ive read you can replace the tensioner pretty easily. How easy is it and what brand of part should i get?

Tensioner might be just the tip of the iceberg, usually chain slap indicates a broken chain guide. The black one on the front of the motor commonly breaks at the top and needs replaced.

The tensioner you want is the newer hydraulic type. Crateegninedepot.com sells them and the parts you need for the guide.
