Mysterious Headlight

I have a 2010 Cobalt LT, 2.2 Auto with 189k on it. When I use my high beams, and switch to low beams the left Headlight will go out. The odd part of it is that it will go out, and come on 10,15,30 seconds later if I do not switch back to high beams. I've changed the headlamp assembly due to a crack in the case. I've replaced the harness that plugs to car just behind the assembly. All wires seem to look fine. Any ideas where to start?

Did you try a new bulb? Or try swapping the bulbs you have side for side and see if the problem changes sides as well? I'm pretty sure that's all it is. Happens all the time with halogen bulbs.

I've swapped bulbs new head light assembly. It's a short somewhere. If lamp is out and I tap on it it will come on.

I'm convinced its a bad bulb issue. Go to the auto parts store. Buy a brand new one, even if its just a cheap one. Take home carefully. Install it carefully. I'm sure your problem will go away. There's really nothing else in there to go bad. I went through the same thing with my Cobalt. New bulbs, no problem. Good luck. I know how aggravating it is.
