Grinding Noise About 15-20 seconds after cold start
53,000 miles. I haven't replaced any belts since I bought the car (I bought the car when it had just under 47K, in Jan 2011). I will try later today to try to see what I can on the belts/pulleys (I don't know anything about cars. I can change my air filter, and that's about it...I do...- katheek77

Grinding Noise About 15-20 seconds after cold start
The noise appears to be coming from the passenger side, near/under/around where the air filter is located (I am really bad at locating noise sources). As far as shavings in the oil, the oil was changed about 600 miles ago, and looks fine.- katheek77

Rubbing noise when braking?
When I brake, there is a rubbing noise coming from the rear tires. It is more pronounced when I am going down a hill or backing up. Grinding Noise right after shutting off car
The title pretty much explains it all. I turn the car off, and after everything has stopped, there is a quick grinding noise. I know nothing about cars. '08 Cobalt, bought it the end of January. It is driving me insane already...Ideas? ETA: It has about 47K miles total on it.- katheek77
