    front end clunk

Get the Moog LCA bushings. They are solid, unlike the OE ones. Those dips in the side cause excess play & premature failure. The Moog ones are solid rubber.

    Suspension clunk on bump/turn

Did not mean to post here. My laptop whacked out & when I came back to the page, I posted in the wrong front end clunk thread.

    Front sway bar question

I have an 06 LT and I just ordered a front sway bar for an 06 SS/SC. Do you need to change end links as well, or are they the same on both the FE1 & FE5 suspensions? I've already changed to the Moog end links, and I'm really hoping I don't have to buy a second set just to install the sway...

    spray paint?

Advance usually has a nice selection of factory paint colors. Just need your paint code. Usually found on the inside of the doors.

    Front end clunk

It just started happening today, out of nowhere. But at low speeds, it very rarely makes any clunks, but as I speed up, it's completely random. Not just a right turn only thing, or an over a bump thing. It just makes clunky noises. When I got it home & up in the air, I took the wheels off. I...

    Poly Cab Install-fe1

What's the part number for this kit? The NEA link is dead & the only kit listed on Prothane's website (that actually fit the year range) are trans mount inserts and sway bar bushings. It lists control arm bushings, but the last year range they list is 95-04.

Front End Clunk..Related to Sway Bar Bushings & Links. Anyone else had this Problem?

The Moog brand are thicker (ever so slight upgrade) and also have grease zerks so you can regrease them to extend the life. They also have the nut to hold with one wrench while you tighten the main nut, so they are pretty easy to install. They may be slightly more costly, but totally worth it...

    Wiring Help Please?

After you get the above, plug the factory harness ito that, and then use terminal butt connectors to crimp the appropriate wire from the Metra to the aftermarket radio harness. (i.e. the Metra ground wire is black, and the new radio harness ground wire is black, use a butt connector & crimp...

    leak under dash

Sounds like water. If it leaks worse after using either side of the A/C (hot or cold), I would start there. If the A/C system has no effect on it, I would look into trims/sealers (your window trim/seal for example).

    Steering shakes

I don't have a problem with replacing the rotors. I did not orginally (as I said in the OP) see a rotor warp, so I thought to look into something else.

    Power Steering

The MRZ crank pulley has been known to develop a slight oil leak, so in my opinion, I would really only stick with swapping the alternator pulley. I'm not sure how much savings you will get out of it, but a bunch of little numbers add up to bigger numbers when it's all said & done. Depending on...

    New

Two reasons. 1) Shocks & struts are one of the most overlooked maintenance procedures, so by law of averages, he can safely assume you probably have not done so already. 2) You have to take them off to put on the lowering springs anyway, so you might as well get it all done at once & save you...

    Steering shakes

I didn't change the pads until AFTER all this started. I noticed a slight uneven pad wear on the driver's side pads, so I eyeballed the rotors & the brake lines on that side, and it all looked OK. I also hadn't noticed a degredation in braking ability either, so that's why I was thinking it was...

    Steering shakes

They must be very mildly faded, because they passed the eye test. Oh well. At least it's a cheaper fix. I'll actually take them off the vehicle & give them a more thorough check this weekend.

    Steering shakes

At high speeds, I've noticed that when I depress the brake pedal (not fully, but partially, like in controlling speeds), the steering wheel shakes like crazy. It's less noticible at only 50, and under 45, it is not there at all. I've already checked the brakes, and they seem fine. I'm...

    Power Steering

Yes. A hydraulic power steering would have a resevoir, rubber hydraulic lines, and a belt driven pump. When ecomodding vehicles, it's a common thing to swap a power steering rack for a manual one. Electric power steering would have 0 effect on your MPG's because it is not driven by the drive...

How to: Remove Automatic Shift Knob( any year)

Note for those of you ding this as part of a replacement shift unit (like I just did yesterday). Don't bother with this until you have the old one out. The car doesn't HAVE to be started. It just has to be in drive. Once the old unit is out, simply slide it to drive & remove as per these...

How to Remove Squeaks and Rattles from Snap in trim

I'm doing this today if the rain stops. It's so bad on the passenger side that I have to fade the radio almost all the way to the driver's side just to stop the rattle & squeaking. I already bought the tack, but I was thinking that a few shots from a can of rubberized undercoating might work...

How to: install interior neons or LED's

Are all the empty fuse slots live? I had an old EG Civic that I was wiring some stuff to & there were plenty of empty slots, but only like 3 that were useable. Here's a diagram I found. Looks like slots 11, 17, 18, 22, and 23 are empty. Doesn't show amperage or if they are actually live or not...

    2007 cobalt LS , HELP!

The shift cable is located under the console, and it runs through the firewall. If it's broken, it needs to be replaced. I don't remember if it's adjustable or not, if it's just loose.

    cobalt starting weird

Weird. Even RockAuto only has one for $130. Is there a table anywhere that shows the amount of voltage for various throttle positions?

    cobalt starting weird

Mine has been taking several seconds to crank. On some colder mornings, it'll even act like its trying to catch even after I stop turning the key, but it usually cranks after a half second of that. I never thought to check the TPS. I thought mine was electrical. I had the battery tested last...
