2008 Chevy Cobalt LS - Mystery Part ???
I'm not sure what your talking about not without marking it in the photo. If I'm understanding what bit you've explained is the motor/transmission mount with raw aluminum and that rusty ring to the rubber bushing right? Yeah motor/transmission mount. Very important. LoL good luck! -

Marsauto led headlight bulbs
Sounds like they sent in a set of 9005's instead. Does it have the high beam led's? I've seen that before happened trying to pass bulbs for what they aren't.- pawntec

yeah you'll have to do some google research to take a part the dash to service the hvac. i was looking thru the chilton book i've got for the cobalt's and it does give some instructions how to remove it but not much on the dash just the unit once the dash is removed. some good research would...- pawntec

Should I swap or boost my car?
If is as you after reading your post Dow hat I'm planning to do. I've got 2 cobalts a 2010 SS LNF new to me last November AND A 2006 LS manual which is my DD/winter car. My SS will keep simple upgrades like the stage upgrade and maybe a few little things but my 2k6 LS once I get a new winter car...- pawntec

Yeah yelloeye has a good point but I've ran a custom catback since the first year I got my 06 LS m/t brand new. It finally rusted Infront of the muffler last year at the bugger weld after 10 years of Alaska winters so it wasn't so bad. A direct factory bolt on should last much longer so I...- pawntec

It almost sounds like the timing chain jumped or something. I would confirm the timing it so good might be the timing sensor.- pawntec
