i dont know if it has been said but i recently finished fully debadging my trunk. I used zippo fuel. worked very well and very fast. no damage to the paint. as soon as i got the adhesive off i washed the area with car soap and water then waxed the area.

stop using this crap on your paint guys. use an eraser wheel.

it's made for debadging and removing glue residue. just use it like a polishing wheel except you use the edge like in the pic. it does heat the paint so careful not to burn it. you can get one at a body shop supply store.

i've done it on my car and countless customer cars at the body shop i worked at. it doesnt damage the paint at all just don't be a dummy with it and sit in one spot for too long.

goo gone has its purposes and yes it does work for debadging. I have debadged countless client's cars with zero issues. I always clay the area after then apply sealant, wax, etc.

The 3m stuff is pretty freaking good as well though.
