Just kind of musing like an idiot.

I currently own a 2008, 2.2, automatic LT coupe. I'd eventually like to build the car but I've been indecisive how I would like to do it.

One of my ideas, anyways, is to basically get an 08ish Malibu donor car and transplant just about everything... LE5 engine, 4T45E trans with TAPshift paddles, ECM, TCM, BCM(???)

Ok, but why?

Obviously the Cobalt can come with an LE5 and already has the 4T45E.

So I could just swap up to a 2.4 Cobalt with a manual trans if I want. However, I'd retain the car in part as a daily/touring car and still want the option to control RPM through TAPshift paddles for drag/autocross racing.

Being such a similar engine, I don't see the TCM program for the Malibu affecting driveability much, and the trans can be reinforced through IPT if I get serious.

If I could find a donor car on the cheap, is this a decent idea?

Furthermore, would having the ECM from a Malibu affect tunability through ZZP or not so much?
