yea I realized the vid no longer worked so I went and stole that picture how to..

you're fine with the airbag just don't touch the wires with your hands or contact them with tools. airbags can be set off with static electricity :p

could i disconnet the battery and be safe lol

nope airbag system is designed to operate even after being disconnect from the battery.. in the event of a crash the airbag must be able to deploy even if catastrophic failure of the electric system. and no unpluggin it and letting it sit will not help contrary to popular belief because capacitors are able to hold a charge for hundreds of years :) (now i know some one is going to say "disconnect the battery and turn the key to drain residual voltage from the capacitors" capacitors for the airbag are unaffected)
