ok.. so im looking at swapping in the factory cobalt cd player with AUX into my base model Cobalt LS. Can this be done? any mods?

Im not interested in spending 300 bucks for an aftermarket double din, I would rather leave it stock so my sh!t doesnt get jacked.. Just wanna add the AUX feature. I know the codes for the two decks.. Mine is the UN0 deck (base model with no options) and I wanna upgrade to the U1C deck that has all the options including the AUX input.

Any help would be appreciated. I know Im new here.. But i have over ten years customizing cars on a mild to wild extent.. so im not a newb to the aftermarket, just lookin to see if there is an easy yes or no and if any mods are needed.

oh, and maybe looking to add the factory steering wheel controls too if I can simply upgrade to the nicer factory deck. THANKS ALL!!

What year car? Which year stereo?

Also don't make duplicate threads, half those views were search engine bots.

about that... I realized I had placed this in the wrong section under the HOW TO.. so i moved it, this needs to be deleted.

But, I have a 06 Cobalt ls, and I wanna swap it in. should be same harness and what not, Right?? short of the additional tweeters in the a pillars.. but I can always add those in down the road.

well bummer.. Guess Ill skip that and just do a 5 lug conversion instead.. cause i hate the "tuner rim" market of 4 lug wheels. Just wanna run the stock SS/SC 18" rims or the SS/TC rims.. know where I can find a write up on that?

That involves changing front hubs, which btw means custom axles since the spline count is different. Oh and messes with the wheel speed sensors so your ABS/ESC/traction control probably won't work anymore.
