Basically I have looked for 05 transmission, no luck, and wreckers and mechanics.say 06 will not work on 05 engine..was wondering why, if it's totally different unit, the harness, bolt pattern whatever the reason was.. So I can obtain a 06 engine and trans unit and was wondering if it all...- kwd1

says that only 05 will work for 05 is it how it bolts up, or the harness etc If I have an 06 engine/ trans unit will it bolt into the 05 cobalt LS (2.2 liter) and harness up. What made the 05 different. thanks in advance.- kwd1
