I decided that I'm going to give the iPod I won to my dad because I borrowed some money from him to buy my cobalt and giving it to him would make us even. Thanks again for the iPod and helping pay off my car haha :D
Woke up today and looked at my phone and saw I won, then I was getting ready for work and my boss called and said I can have the day off. Awesome! :party36:
Thank you for your help. I decided that I'm going to drive this Cobalt for awhile and then I would like to buy a 5 speed coupe preferably a SS coupe but I don't know if I will be able to get a SS.
Decide to post some more pictures of the swap. Oh and the previous owner gave me maintenance records and he had a new clutch and fluid put in 15,000 miles ago and he paid the same amount for that as I paid for the car.
Getting ready to pull the old engine
Its out!
No motor!
New engine...
Its alive!! My brother and I ended up putting the motor in without pulling the tranny or dropping the sub-frame. Instead we pulled all the tranny mounts and got it over to the driver side enough to get the engine in and aligned. Started right up after we hooked the vacuum line up that we missed...
Here is the donor car
Almost ready to come out
Shes out!
Now I have to switch some parts and it will be ready to go into my car. My boss said it would be easier to get the tranny and engine aligned out of the car so he said to pull my engine and tranny out together then put the new engine...
Yeah my boss said that its not worth fixing and who knows what made it break. I can't pass it up just looked on ebay and people want $400 and up for these engines. I got to hear the one I'm buying and it sounds good.

Got the timing chain cover off today after work and a bolt head fell out along with a guide.
So I went and talked to my boss/owner of the used car lot I work at and he said it would be cheaper to put a new engine in the car then to have the spot that the bolt broke off and gouged the...
So I need a new chain tensioner and a new chain? Or is the old one good?

Probably better to change the chain while I'm in there right?
I decide to pull the valve cover and there is a lot of slop in the chain and I cannot get any of the colored links to line up with the exhaust or intake marks

Could all this slop and the fact the the timing...
