I have my daughters 2005 Cobalt which has problem with the power unlock. It works with the unlock button in car but not with the remote key fob. The remote does lock the car though. Thus, using the key to unlock sets off the alarm until the cat is started which makes her very popular in the neighborhood.
I assume this is more a receiver issue that a remote transmitter issue since both remotes have the same problem. Any thoughts or suggestions other than taking it to the dealer? Thanks

Its the transmitters, its always the solder breaking loose on the circuit board of the key fob. Or in your case, the rubber pads on the inside of the unlock and unlock buttons on the transmitter are worn. Long story short, I've tried cleaning the rubber up to make a better contact. Never works, have to replace the transmitters. Sucks at $50-$80, more if it's one with remote start. Check ebay for people selling them. Dealer is the only one who can program them to the car though
