I do not want to put the blame on the installers but after they installed a kenwood amp with kicker subs, my speedometer doesn't work. I've also noticed that it feels like I'm driving in Neutral. IT doesnt want to drive smoothly. Power steering shows up on the dashboard and my check engine light is on. Could there be a bad wiring or loose wiring somewhere? Could it just be a coincidence that my speedometer died on me? I do not know much about cars but it was fine before the installation of an amp and subs.

another one bites the dust to the TCM going bad. I just had mine go out. powersteering on dic, press brake loud sylinoid sound, wont shift out of first, speedo not working, and powersteering fills a little tight. Yeah it's the TCM.

who has multiple threads. My cobalt is already fixed. I was just telling him my cars problems and that the tcm fixed them.

Something in the system is sending voltage into the BCM. I had similar issues when I first installed my system. Mine set off every warning on the dic and the car would keep running after the key was removed until the brakes were pressed..

Could this be a result from the amp and sub installation? Can I pin point this problem to the installers? Also, will this be an easy fix? I had my car sitting at the mechanics over the weekend, waiting for their diagnostics. If it is the TCM, Will it be safe to drive with out this issue fixed? The mechanic did refer to "the brain" when he mentioned the speedometer, power steering, and A/C not working properly.

What did you do to fix the problem? Was it a grounding issue from the amp?

I never in stalled a system in my car. If the tcm did go out your car wont shift. I think mine went down to a 3 mpg, for the day we had to drive it to get stuff done. chevy charged us 400 dollars to replace.
