Airbox mod

i just finish taking the resistor (air box silencer) out of my 2.2L Sedan. I will let you all know if there is any difference. I do have K&N air filter so just to let you know. i will post another thread later tonight.

Any noticeable gains?

UPDATE: I did notice a gain in the throttle responce a little bit but enough to notice it. You can feel it the difference if you took your time with it. Nothing to big but at least i got something out of it. Tiny Bit of acceleration and more throttle responce.

Note: Doing this mod was really easy. The only hard part is taking that b**** out lol. I Did it while my car is on the lift. Take off the tire, Then the wall (5mm i believe) and the bottom where its located (easier access). Then there is 1 bolt (10mm) then once thats out its loose, (The hard part ----> I yank mines out but you can use a long fat flat head =D.

If you going are planning to put a Cold Air Intake, This part has to come out.

For me, ill say its worth it.

I did this on my car it sounds good but you can only hear it from 3000 rpm and up.

after doing this, i noticed my mpg went up by 1.5. with everything stock, i get 30 mpg. i drive about normal, little on the fast side though.

By stock airbox do you mean that big box before the stock air filter?

Talking about the big resinator that leads to the airbox where the filter is at.
