Is there any reason i shouldn't mod my stock headlights to have the low beams on with my high beams?

So in the stock headlight the single bulb for high/low would probably overheat and blow with both elements going at once.... That is what i figured but thought id ask.

high and low beams at the same time

This.

Unless you are running a dual bulb projector housing with HID lows.

I did it on mine, simply accomplished with a couple of diodes and a cap.

i have aftermarket dual bulb headlights. and i was wondering how you were able to configure both your high and low beams to be on at the same time when you turn your high beams on. I would really appreciate your help. thank you!

Shot you a PM. Basically you just connect the high and low beam wires with a diode so that power always flows to the low beam regardless of hi/low and the highs are only on in the high position. I used 2 diodes and a small capacitor to accomplish this, the capacitor is to keep the lows from flickering off during the transition from low to high and back. All parts can be picked up at Radioshack or Fry's for like $5, toss it all in some heat shrink and you're set.

If anyone was curious, this is basically the configuration I had from what I recall, it's been a while. 1000uF capacitor and a couple diodes. Worked great.
