So I have been driving my 2009 Cobalt now for quite a while...bought it used with about 35k Miles and just crossed over 119k and still drives the same...
I must say it has been one of the best I have ever owned...However I realize this is not always the case

I have seen a lot of stories about Cobalts..some good some bad...

My wife is in need of a vehicle and we are looking at Cobalt Sedans

Are there any Years to avoid... any warning signs of trouble to come to look out for....things of that nature?

As always...thanks in advance!

i would suggest 08+ due to a stronger block. but for every day driving, they're all pretty much the same if you're buying a 2.2. the only thing you'll have to make sure though, is if the power steering problem was fixed. dealer can check the vin to make sure it was fixed... otherwise all are pretty good to go.

also, another thing to look for, possibly on a test drive, it a clunking in the front end, due to the control arm bushings. They are notorious for going to sh*t aorund 30,000-40,000 mi on cobalts/HHR's. Its nothing too major, but just a pain in the di*k to have to replace them immediately after buying a car as my wife did :/ Other than that, I don't think theres too many problems out there.. Best of luck
