Hi, fiancee just got a new cobalt, figured I'd register to the appropriate forum.

We're from California, first Chevy car owned..before I had a stroked/ported/camm'd/nitrous v6 mustang.. not really looking for performance here, just to get to know the car a bit better and all.

I believe (off the top of my head, i can't remember now) It's the LS model..SS wheels..oddly enough, we bought it used, with one owner before, there was an SS emblem mark (like it had been peeled off or something) on the passenger side..

When I get time tomorrow, pictures will come, we picked it up today. VERY smooth running car, for a 4 cylinder, it has some get up and go, we love the trunk ect. The stock pioneer sub (i think its stock..) and speakers are great.

It's got a moon roof, unfortunately, we wanted a snowboard rack for the winter but, I'm pretty sure we can't do that with it, lol.

Anyways, I'm sure we'll have questions to get familiar with the car, forums have always been great for me to learn about my mustang, I have no doubt the cobalt forums will be the same. Hope to meet you all and learn a bit while we're here.

Welcome to the forum!

There was an SS naturally aspirated trim level for a couple years. If that's the one it'll have "ecotec VVT" on the valve cover and separate coil packs. Believe that one was produced 06-08 with the 2.4 motor, build sticker under the trunk carpet will say LE5 if that's the case.

The stock Pioneer 10" sub should be in a plastic box in the cavity behind the drivers side wheel.

You can mount a roof rack on it, Yakima makes one. Sunroof may not open all the way back when it is mounted though.

Yea, just checked the cobalt out, I guess it's an SS. We had no idea, the car has no SS emblems on it, except for a spot on the inside where it looked like someone had peeled a "SS" sticker off or something.

None yet unfortunately, didn't get any time to do it today. Will be trying here in the next few days. It goes back to the dealer Thursday to get these little pinstripes removed and we'll have it back.
