So...my output shaft seals were leaking & CV Axles were in need of replacement...
during the replacement of those parts...It appeared a good amount of transmission fluid had leaked out and there was an area on the skid plate that had transmission fluid on it.
When I went to add transmission fluid, the engine off, in park, I added 12 Ounces then noticed it coming out from underneath the drivers side of the car. I was adding it to the fill port on top of the transmission...is there an "idiot drain hole" for preventing overfill or is something wrong here?
:challenge:

Did the same thing.. That isn't the correct fill hole. It's further to the right when facing the car.

I'm wondering if I'm going to have any problems with the mistakenly putting fluid somewhere it shouldn't be.

Automatic transmission, I'm assuming. The file hole is on top, between engine and fuse box, usually red in color. There's a 11mm bolted in level check on the passenger side, about 3 inch from where the passenger side axle is, between the transmission and engine, about level with the axle. Start the car, pull the level plug, add fluid tell it trickles out the level plug. Replace plug. The engine needs to be running for proper fill height!!!
