I have a 2007 chevy cobalt ls. I jumped someone off with no problem but then when i went to start my car again a few minutes later it wouldnt start. all of the lights and radio worked and my battery was charged completly but it was making no noise. its a manual so i ended up starting it that way but in first and second gear it was lagging. it almost felt like how it does if you run out of gas but i have a full tank. i floored it in second gear and it was jumping a little and not going past 10 miles per hour. after shifting to third it was fine, until i down shifted or came to a complete stop. i am wondering if both of these problems are connected and maybe my starter or if its something else?

Welcome to the internet where everyone's a smart ass.

Alternator should be checked.

It's defiantly not the battery. Would the starter cause it to do that while I'm drivin though? That didn't start happening until after my car wouldn't start.

I thought that was a legitimate question. Since the high voltage battery in a Pruis is about 2 hundred volts. But seriously. Where did you hook the jumper cables too? The fuse block, or the battery in the trunk? There is a fuse in the trunk by the battery. 60 amp I believe. Was your car running at the time? I'd check all the fuses. I wouldn't think the starter to be the problem. You may have burnt a ground wire up, or blown a fuse. High amperage is hard on little ground wires. Should have only hooked the cables to the battery itself, with the car off, just to be safe.

2007 cobalt LS 2.2

Car won't start. Battery tested okay. Starter tested okay. No blown fuses. Ground is okay. All lights come on. No dash light indicators. Makes clicking noise when trying to start. Any suggestions?
