Hi guys
I just got 05 cobalt LS and I installed my nexus7 as a headunit. But problem is even though i raise the volume on my tablet fully, it is not loud enoung..
I heard that whenever the car turn on and off, the stock amp default certain level of volum and I guess this is why...
Is there any way to keep the stock amp volume high? Is it okay to install a new amp and bypass it?
Thank you for reading it :)

Oooo details! I've been wanting to do this with mine.

What is your current setup? Knowing more about the head unit, amplifier, and how you have it hooked up will help figure out your issue.

I am using nexsus7 2013 as the head unit and wired like the photo.
From the radio harness, got front R and L, rear R and L wires and connected with RCA cable with 3.5mm jack. And finally i put the 3.5mm jack into my nexus7.

Wait... So you're running the tablet straight into the vehicle harness? If you don't have the Pioneer upgraded speakers, there is no amplifier. You'll want to toss one in that has volume control.

Nope, just the ones with the Pioneer tweeters and subwoofer.

You should checkout the car build threads over on XDA Developers, they've got good equipment suggestions.

Keep us posted, I plan to do this one of these days.
