I'm new to this forum and wasn't sure where I should post this. I hope this is the right area, but if not, I apologize and please let me know the right place and I'll repost it.

I did some errands today and my 09 cobalt started up fine, initially and after about 5 different stops. While driving home, the car lost power. The radio was still playing and all gauges were still lit, but there was no response from the gas pedal. I drifted off to the side, shut off the key, and tried to restart. NOTHING. Again, all lights came on, radio worked, gas gauge went on, but no response from motor at all, not even cranking or turning over.

I don't think it's the battery because I just put in a new one 2 months ago and everything is getting full power. There is no dimming of the lights like when the old battery went bad.

Has anyone experienced this or heard of this happening and can possibly point me in the right direction to fix it as I can't afford to start buying stuff that might not be the problem. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.. wish it was under better circumstances.. LOL

I will be honest.. there are not many people on this forum. I'm not super knowledgable about engine issues..

YellowEye is the main member here.. he knows a lot of things.. hopefully he can help ya.

Good luck!

Thanks Jaws4God. Hopefully, he'll stumble upon my post and be able to shed some light on it. Is there a section on here for recalls as I've heard of an ignition recall and am wondering if that could be it. Thank you again

Lol You give me too much credit Jaws. I'm just one of the few remaining people that still hand around.

As for your issue vaptor, quite puzzling. Do you have any check engine codes coming up? Had the ignition recall done? How have you gotten it started again?
