Stop Lamp Issue

I have a 2008 LT Cobalt when I noticed the cruise control stopped working. Found it to be a faulty connection to the stop lamp. "No worries, I'll just re-sauter the wires and be good", then I made the mistake of leaving the keys in when I disconnected the wires and they accidentally touched. Orignially read 12V through the wires when the brake was engaged, now reading 5.7V regardless of if brake is engaged or not, which obviously isn't allowing the lamp to illuminate. I could care less about the lamp, but miss my cruise control.. Checked all fuses and they're good. I really don't think its the stop lamp switch from the brake because the back left/right and running lights illuminate once the brake is engaged.

Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated!

I ended up figuring it out. Turns out there's two fuses for it. The cabin fuse was good, but the brake lamp fuse under the hood was bad. Replaced and now working!
