Wondering if my car is a freak

I have a 2005 Cobalt, very basic.
It is now in it's eleventh cold winter in Canada. Has never been in a garage during cold weather.
I have over 520,000 kilometers (well over 300,000 miles) on this baby.
Same original battery, same original exhaust. Seems too good to be true.
Have had nothing major go wrong with it. Pretty basic maintenance.
It is only 4 cylinder. Runs like new (except new cars don't burn as much oil).
Are there other older Cobalt's that have been this good?

Wow....that's a great track record. Timing set been changed? If not I'd look at doing it.

I haven't changed the timing set but recommend it to my mechanic when I take the car in next for a service.
I've almost exclusively driven to a Firestone place in Ohio (7 hours away) for all maintenance.
Yean, a bit odd. The reason being....if I go in with a list of things that I think should be done, they check out everything and only do what is required.
I asked about changing my 11 year old battery, changing the tranny fluid, flush the rad.
The response is usually, if it isn't causing a problem at this time then don't tempt fate.
Outside of brakes, tires and a lot of oil changes (once a month), the car costs me nothing.

It's a timing chain and it's known to chew through the chain guide and then bolt on some of the newer motors like the LNF. Yours is the 2.2 or 2.0?

2. Realistically, how long do you plan on keeping the car? At 300,000 miles, it is well past its expiration date. I'd side with the garage in being hesitant to put much money and time into it.
